Sea & Linen x‍ ‍Spoonweather Collaboration

A little piece of New England, made just for you.

Hand-painted and hand-carved spoons by New England makers - coastal seascapes, marshes, and blue hydrangeas

Each spoon begins with a fallen New England tree, hand-carved into a one-of-a-kind wooden spoon by Steve of Spoonweather. A recessed space is then carved into the handle and filled with an original New England inspired scene, hand-painted by me.

Because every spoon is carved individually and every inlay is painted by hand, no two will be exactly alike. The shape, grain, color, and wood species may vary slightly from the spoon pictured, and each painted scene will have its own small differences as well.

Every spoon is completely special and unique: made by hand, inspired by New England, and meant to be both used and cherished.

Meet the Makers:

Steve Clark

Carver

Steve Clark is a New England native and the maker behind Spoonweather Carvings, based in Needham, Massachusetts. Using wood from fallen and reclaimed trees throughout New England, Steve hand-carves one-of-a-kind wooden spoons and utensils that celebrate the natural beauty and character of each tree. His work combines traditional carving techniques with a love of nature, craftsmanship, and storytelling — creating functional pieces of art meant to be used, enjoyed, and passed down for generations. This collaboration with Rachel brings together two makers who share a love of New England and the beauty of things made by hand.

Rachel Champa is a New England native, mother of three, and the artist behind Sea & Linen. Inspired by the natural beauty of New England, Rachel creates original paintings of coastal seascapes, salt marshes, and her favorite flower, hydrangeas. Often painting during her children's naps and after bedtime, she hopes her artwork brings the same sense of joy and calm she finds in nature. Her collaboration with Spoonweather brings these beautiful New England scenes to life in a whole new way — on hand-carved wooden spoons.
